Control and Protection Panel: engineering to integrate control, measurement, and protection

The concentration of multiple electrical and control functions within a single panel requires approaching the project from an integral perspective, considering both the electrical characteristics of each system and their physical distribution, wiring, and accessibility.
For this application, Equipel developed the engineering and integration of a Control and Protection Panel (TCYP) designed to bring together in a single assembly the different functions required for command, measurement, protection, and supervision.
A highly complex solution
The architecture includes 110 VDC command circuits, a nominal current of 40 A, and a specified short-circuit level of 25 kA.
The assembly is implemented in a large-format metallic enclosure with an IP54 protection rating, prepared to house a high density of components, circuits, and connections.
The solution integrates voltage measurement systems, protections, regulation, signaling, and input/output modules destined for communication and supervision functions.
Engineering to organize multiple systems
One of the main challenges of the project was to concentrate a large quantity and diversity of functions within a single panel.
The engineering contemplated the organization of power, command, and signal circuits according to their function and voltage level, aiming to facilitate system operation, maintenance, and traceability tasks.
This required detailed planning of the physical distribution of components, wiring routing, identification, and the connection of the different systems that are part of the assembly.
Control, protection, and supervision in a single unit
The panel brings together measurement and supervision of electrical variables, protection and regulation systems, signaling and annunciators, as well as input/output modules and communication-associated systems.
The high density of integration makes internal organization and overall engineering central aspects of the development.
The result is a solution that concentrates command, measurement, protection, signaling, and communications within a single panel, integrating multiple functions through engineering oriented to the specific needs of the installation.
