LEDVANCE Solar Streetlight: LED public lighting powered by solar energy with autonomous operation

The integration of solar energy into outdoor lighting enables the development of systems with autonomous operation. In this regard, LEDVANCE Solar Streetlight is a family of LED luminaires for public lighting designed for pole mounting and equipped with its own energy generation and storage system.

The range is available in four power outputs: 45 W, 60 W, 100 W, and 120 W, with luminous fluxes of 9,000, 12,000, 20,000, and 24,000 lumens, respectively. The family features color temperatures of 4,000 K and 5,000 K and achieves a declared efficiency of 200 lm/W.

One of the core elements of the system is its rotational bifacial monocrystalline photovoltaic panel, designed to facilitate greater solar energy capture. The luminaire also incorporates a lithium iron phosphate battery, a microwave sensor, and adjustable LED modules, all integrated into a cast aluminum structure.

The system features different dimming levels based on motion detection. In motion mode, the programming specified by the manufacturer includes 3 hours at 100%, 2 hours at 50%, 5 hours at 20%, and another 2 hours at 50%. In standby mode, it operates at reduced levels for various periods. The indicated autonomy is 12 continuous hours with a full charge, in accordance with this pre-established dimming cycle.

For outdoor operation, the versions in this line feature IP66 protection and IK08 mechanical impact resistance. The technical datasheet also specifies a service life of 100,000 hours L70, a five-year warranty, and batteries prepared for 2,000 cycles.

The power of the photovoltaic system varies depending on the version. The 45 W model uses a 60 W monocrystalline panel; the 60 W model also incorporates a 60 W panel; the 100 W luminaire uses a 120 W panel; and the 120 W version utilizes a 150 W panel.

The microwave sensor is integrated into the luminaire itself, and its detection range depends on the mounting height. LEDVANCE recommends installing the 45 and 60 W models at heights between 6 and 8 meters, while for the 100 and 120 W versions, the recommended height is between 9 and 12 meters.

Due to its characteristics, the line is oriented toward different outdoor lighting scenarios. Among the applications specified by the manufacturer are main and secondary avenues, industrial parks, and parking lots, where an autonomous solution allows for the integration of LED lighting, solar capture, storage, and control in a single unit.

The LEDVANCE Solar Streetlight line is available at Equipel, serving as an alternative for outdoor lighting projects that require a solar-powered LED solution.
