Integrated power, control, and communications to ensure operational continuity

In industrial facilities where operational continuity is fundamental, the integration of power, control, and communications allows different critical functions to be consolidated within a single solution.

For a PAD-type facility, Equipel developed and integrated an architecture designed to centralize power supply, energy backup, automation, communications, and auxiliary services.

Backup for Critical Systems

The solution incorporates a Phoenix Contact UPS system with IQ technology, accompanied by a 12 V, 100 Ah VRLA battery bank, designed to provide backup for the facility's critical systems.

The architecture also includes surge protection, power supplies, and independent distribution for the various services.

In this way, the different electrical and auxiliary systems are organized within an integrated solution, prepared to meet operational needs.

Automation and Industrial Communications

The automation system is based on a Siemens S7-1500 PLC, accompanied by digital and analog input/output modules.

The solution also incorporates Ethernet and serial communications for the integration of the different systems.

The communications infrastructure includes Cisco industrial switches, data line protection, and a fiber optic solution, consolidating within the same architecture the necessary elements for communication and supervision.

An Integrated Architecture for Industrial Operation

The integration of power, backup, control, and communications within a single solution reduces implementation complexity and organizes the various systems associated with the facility.

The development features a heavy-duty industrial enclosure, Phoenix Contact UPS with IQ technology, 12 V, 100 Ah VRLA battery bank, Siemens S7-1500 PLC, digital and analog inputs and outputs, Ethernet and serial communications, Cisco industrial switches, and fiber optic infrastructure.

It also incorporates surge protection, DC/DC conversion, and auxiliary systems.

The result is an integrated architecture, designed to consolidate the electrical, backup, automation, and communication systems necessary for the demands of an industrial operation.
